BODY OF WORK: THEFT, 2018

In the spirit of the historical avant-garde, Dada stands for total doubt of everything, absolute individualism, and the destruction of established ideals and bourgeois norms. Regulatory frameworks determined by functionality, discipline, and social order are sabotaged by arbitrary, subversive actions. A profane traffic sign, ripped from its original urban context, abruptly loses all legitimizing authority.

The readymade here is not a stroke of artistic genius, but a shameless act of expropriation. The gesture of theft does not merely remove the object from traffic regulations, but transfers it directly into the exhibition space—an institution that itself thrives on appropriation and fictitious value creation. The sign becomes an ironic parody of property relations, bureaucratic steering, and the often laughable solemnity of the art world.
