BODY OF WORK: TEMPORALITY, 2017

Death does not necessarily mark an absolute end, but rather a radical shift in function. When organic life ceases, all biological purpose fades – yet precisely in this moment of arrest, a metamorphic transformation begins. The withered form detaches from its original purpose and reconstitutes itself: as an object of quiet, enduring infinity.

Photography freezes this transition, rescuing decay from transience itself. What once perished becomes a timeless relic within the frame – life extinguishes, yet form endures as an artistic constant.

“From decay to permanence – the end as transformation.”

Work note, Vienna 2017:
I sought to give death a new function. The starting point was a single, withered rose: across varied conceptual arrangements against a radically reduced background, I dissected its morbid materiality. Biological decay is not mourned here, but compositionally reactivated – granting it an abstract, renewed 'life' as an aesthetic construct.
