BODY OF WORK: UNSHARP #03, 2014
The question remains: Does truth reside in the objectively measurable sharpness or in the essence of the unsharp? While photography worldwide continues to desperately drown every single eyelash in millions of pixels, "Unsharp #03" simply takes the game to the next level. This is no mere repetition, but the logical mutation of a theme that won’t let me go: If we cannot fully grasp the world anyway, why persist in focusing on it so pedantically?
Seeing everything in focus means overlooking the essence.

Work note, Vienna 2015
Turning to analog materials was a liberation from the compulsion of immediate display inspection. No click, no 100-percent zoom, no digital noise. Just film, light, and the deliberate renunciation of the sharp edge.
